Understanding the genetic basis of severe Staphylococcus aureus infections in humans

Investigating the genotypes of patients who have had a history of severe S. aureus infections and identifying and characterizing new genes with important phenotypes that could play a crucial role in predisposing them to the infections or explain their severity and/or locales.
