The burden of Respiratory Syncytial virus (RSV) in primary care

Human respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) causes significant morbidity and mortality in young children. However, the exact burden of RSV in the primary care setting is largely unknown. With preventive options for the general population expected soon, it is pivotal that data on the clinical and socioeconomic burden of RSV  becomes available for health policy makers to decide whether to implement these options in a national immunisation program.
