How macrophages help neurons to resolve inflammatory pain
Our group previously showed that CD200 receptor (CD200R) and one of its ligands, iSec1, are required for the resolution of inflammatory pain. Macrophages transfer mitochondria to sensory neurons via CD200R expressing vesicles during pain resolution. I will further investigate how mitochondrial transfer normalizes neuronal function and what other molecular features endow macrophages to resolve inflammatory pain.
