Adaptation of pig and poultry production to heat stress

The main objectives of the project are gaining insight into the physiological effects of heat stress on broilers and search for relevant indicators which will facilitate the development of tools to monitor the development of heat stress.  In addition, the synergy of heat stress and endemic infections on different organ systems will be investigated. In summary, the project contributes to animal friendly and sustainable poultry production and improve the adaptive capacity of husbandry systems to climate change.
